No downloads or installations on your device are required. The following sections explain how this tool works, what content you can download, and what to do if a download does not work.

What FBviddl Can and Cannot Download

This tool allows you to download videos that have been shared publicly — meaning anyone can access the post and watch the video without logging into Facebook. FBviddl can therefore download videos from public profiles and Pages.

FBviddl cannot download videos restricted to Friends Only, videos shared in closed or secret Groups, or videos hidden behind any other privacy settings. This is not a limitation anyone is trying to solve — FBviddl simply uses the same mechanism as a regular, logged-out visit to Facebook and cannot bypass privacy settings.

Downloading on Phone vs. Computer

Android and iPhone

In the Facebook app, tap Share → Copy Link on the video, then open FBviddl in your browser and paste it. If the link doesn't load, open the video in your phone's browser instead of the app and copy it from the address bar — app-generated share links sometimes take longer to resolve. On iPhone, downloads may prompt you to save to Photos or Files; on Android, they typically land in your Downloads folder.

Desktop (Windows / Mac / Linux)

Copy the video's URL from Facebook.com, paste it above, and download. If your browser doesn't start the download automatically, right-click the download link and choose "Save link as."

What Video Quality to Expect

FBviddl retrieves the video directly from Facebook's servers — it does not upscale, re-encode, or improve the content. If the video was uploaded in low quality, it will be downloaded in low quality. If it was uploaded in HD, the download will reflect that. No tool can add quality that was not in the original upload. Be cautious of any downloader that claims to guarantee a specific resolution regardless of the original video.

Reasons a Facebook Video Download May Fail

1. The video has privacy restrictions. If the video is set to private or requires login to view, FBviddl cannot access it.
2. The link was copied from the app share sheet. Links from Facebook's mobile app share sheet may take time to resolve or may not work at all. Copy the link from a web browser instead.
3. The video was made private or deleted after the link was shared. Once a video is made private or removed, the link stops working immediately.
4. Everything looks correct but the download does not start. This can happen occasionally. Facebook regularly changes its platform, and there may be a temporary delay before the downloader catches up.
5. The file downloads but will not play. The file may be incomplete or in a format your player does not support. Try a different media player or re-download the file.

Using Facebook Video Responsibly

Being able to view a video publicly doesn't automatically give you the right to reuse or repost it — the original creator generally still holds copyright. Download videos you have permission to use, or that you're saving for personal viewing, and check with the creator before republishing anything elsewhere.
